A competitor's store page, saved every week
The Google Play app API returns one app's full store listing as a single row: star rating, rating count, install band, category, content rating, in-app purchase price range, last update date, release notes, description, developer contact and screenshot links. One call costs €0.0015, so checking 1,000 apps costs €1.50. Add your apps once, and every scheduled run keeps a dated copy of each listing in your Scrapewise account for the table, Excel, your AI assistant or the API.
A store page changes quietly. A rival rewrites its description, swaps the first screenshot, raises its in-app prices or ships an update every Thursday. Nobody tells you. If you want to know what changed, you need last week's copy of the page to compare against, and the Play Store doesn't keep one for you.
This API gives you that copy. Save a row per app per week and the history builds itself. Rating count is the number to watch: in our Duolingo sample it's 49,118,405, and the weekly change in that count tells you far more about a rival's momentum than the 4.73 star average does. To find the apps in the first place, start with the Play Store search API. To read what users write, use the Play Store reviews API. All sources and prices are on the all data APIs and prices page.
Who watches Play Store listings
App makers watching rivals
You follow 10 direct competitors. Save their listing every Monday and you'll see which one shipped an update, rewrote its pitch or changed its in-app prices.
ASO consultants
Before you rewrite a client's listing, collect the descriptions and screenshots from the top 10 apps for their main keyword. Your recommendations come with evidence attached.
App investors and M&A scouts
Install band and rating count, logged over time, give a rough growth curve for apps that don't publish numbers. It's public data and costs €0.0015 per check.
Agencies monitoring client apps
Check each client listing daily and flag changes nobody approved, like a new category, a dropped screenshot or a rating that slipped below 4.0.
How it works
Add the apps once
Paste the Play Store link or the package name, like com.shopify.mobile. Set country and language if you want one market. One app is one call at €0.0015.
Schedule it weekly
Each run saves a dated copy of every listing, so a list of 50 apps turns into a weekly history.
Compare the rows
Put this week next to last week in the table or Excel, pull rows by API, or ask your AI assistant: 'which competitor changed its price range or release notes this month?'
Set it up once. The data keeps coming.
Save your search once and it runs by itself. Every run lands in your own Scrapewise database, and you pick how to read it.
Set it up once
Add your ASINs, keywords, places or apps to a scraper in the web app. New accounts get 5 free requests.
Runs on your schedule
Pick daily, weekly on the days you choose, every few days, or the first or last day of the month. Scheduled runs start at night, European time. Need it more often? Start runs from your own code.
Saved in your database
Each run adds dated rows, so this week sits next to last week. Rows are kept for 90 days.
Use it your way
Open the table in the web app and download the latest run as an Excel file. Ask your own AI assistant about it. Or pull the rows into your code with an API key.
Ask your AI assistant about your own data
Connect Claude Desktop, Claude Code or another MCP app with a read-only key. The assistant reads the rows you've already collected, at no extra cost on Scrapewise. With a full-access key it can start a run for you too.
- Which of my ASINs lost the Buy Box this week?
- Which competitor cut prices the most since Monday?
- Show the keywords where I dropped out of the top 10.
What you send and what you get back
Send a Play Store app link or package name. Country and language are optional. Each call returns one row with the listing fields and a separate column for each screenshot link, so popular apps come back wide.

What each column means
Columns that start with 'sw' carry the same names on every Scrapewise data API. The rest are Google Play's own listing fields. One app is always one row.

What you can do with listing data
Track rating count growth
Log a rival's rating count every week. If it grows by 40,000 one week and 4,000 the next, something changed in their marketing or their store position.
Read competitor changelogs
Save the release notes and update date with each check. Over a quarter you'll see how often a rival ships and what they spend their time on.
Watch in-app pricing
The in-app purchases column holds the price range shown on the listing, like '$0.99 - $239.99 per item'. When either end of that range moves, the rival changed something in its pricing.
Study listing design
Collect descriptions and screenshot links from the top 10 apps in your category. Line them up to see how long the leaders' descriptions are and what their first screenshot says.
Size an app by install band
The downloads column shows the band Google Play displays, like 500,000,000+. Moving up a band is a public milestone you can log the week it happens.
Catch unwanted changes to your own listing
Check your app daily and alert when the description, category or content rating differs from yesterday. A mistake in a store release gets caught the same day.
