USE CASE

Local Business Leads: A List of Businesses in Your Area, One Row per Business

Search Google Maps for a trade and a place, paste the link, and get the businesses back as rows: name, category, address, phone, website, rating and review count. One search returns up to 20 businesses and costs €0.0015. The rows hold what each business lists on Google Maps, so there are no email addresses, and a field the business left out stays empty.

THE PROBLEM

Why a Local Business List Is Slow to Build by Hand

  1. 01

Google Maps shows the list but does not export it

Search, click a pin, copy the phone number, copy the website, go back, click the next pin. Every business is its own round of copy and paste, and every extra city repeats the whole job.

  2. 02

One search stops at 20 places

A search returns the list Google Maps shows for it, up to 20 businesses. A list of every dentist in a large city is therefore many searches, one per district or neighborhood, not one.

  3. 03

The same business turns up in more than one search

Neighboring districts overlap, and a business with two categories answers two searches. Each row carries the Google place ID, so repeats can be removed on that one column and the list ends with one row per business.

  4. 04

Contact fields are whatever the business listed

In our own search for coffee in Tallinn on 22 September 2026, 16 of 20 businesses listed a phone number and 16 of 20 listed a website link, 3 of them a social profile. That is one search, not a benchmark. Your trade and your city will differ.

From a Maps Search to a Business List in 4 Steps

The list is built from searches you choose, which is what keeps it relevant: these are the businesses Google Maps shows for your trade in your area, not a general company register.

  1. Search Google Maps as you normally would

Type the trade and the place, for example 'plumber in Leeds', and copy the link from your browser. The search and the map area both come from that link.

  2. Add one link per area

Paste the link into a scraper. For a bigger list add one search link per city, district or neighborhood. Each search is one call at €0.0015 and returns up to 20 businesses.

  3. Run it once or on a schedule

Run the batch now, or monthly to pick up businesses that are new on Google Maps. Every run is saved with its date for 90 days.

  4. Filter and take the list

Filter by category, rating or an empty website column, remove repeats on the place ID, then download Excel, read the rows over the REST API, or ask an AI assistant over MCP.

What You Send, What You Get Back

You bring the searches. You get one row per business for each search, with what that business lists on Google Maps.

What a Maps Listing Gives You, and What It Does Not

The data is what each business shows on its own Google Maps listing. We return what Google Maps shows and cannot guarantee that a field is filled. The counts are from our own search for coffee in Tallinn on 22 September 2026, 20 businesses. They describe that one search only.

A Sample List: 10 Real Businesses From One Search

Real business listings, phone numbers partly masked. These are the first 10 of the 20 rows that the search 'coffee in Tallinn' returned on 22 September 2026, in the order Google Maps listed them. They are the same rows the Google Maps scraper API page shows. Names, categories, ratings, review counts, addresses and websites are the public listings as returned. Because this page is public and the table can be downloaded, the last four digits of each phone number are replaced by stars. Your own export masks nothing. A field the business did not list reads "not listed" here and is empty in your export. The full row has many more columns, such as opening hours and GPS coordinates.

What You Get Instead of Copying Pins by Hand

One row per business

One row per business

Each business in a search is one row with its name, category, address, phone, website, rating and review count. The place ID on every row is the key for removing repeats when your searches overlap.

Gaps you can see and use

Gaps you can see and use

A business that lists no phone or no website stays in the list with that field empty. For a web agency the empty website column is the lead list itself.

Run the same searches on a schedule and each run is saved with its date. Compare the place IDs of two runs in your spreadsheet to see which businesses are new.

THE SHORT ANSWER

Local Business Leads: The Short Answers

How can I get a list of businesses in my area?

How can I get a list of businesses in my area?

Search Google Maps for the trade and the place, copy the link and paste it into Scrapewise. Each search returns up to 20 businesses as rows. For a whole city, add one search per district.

How do I find local businesses without a website?

How do I find local businesses without a website?

Filter the list for rows where the website column is empty. Check the filled ones too: in our sample search 4 of 20 businesses listed no website and 3 more listed only a social profile.

Does the list include email addresses?

Does the list include email addresses?

No. Email addresses are not part of Google Maps data and are not returned. You get the phone number and the website the business lists, and we do not fill the gap from another source.

Start With One Search

Paste one Google Maps search for your trade and your town and see how many businesses come back with a phone and a website and how many do not. Every new account gets 5 free requests, and after that you pay as you go from a prepaid balance. A search that does not come back is not charged.

FAQ

Local Business Leads FAQs

Where the rows come from, how to cover a whole area, what is not in the data, and what a list costs.

From the public Google Maps listing of each business. The data is what each business shows on its own Google Maps listing. We return what Google Maps shows and cannot guarantee that a field is filled. We add nothing from other sources. If a business lists no phone or no website, that field is empty in your list.
