Turn a string of letters into a named store

An Amazon seller ID tells you nothing on its own. The Amazon seller API reads the seller's profile page and returns one row: store name, the about text the seller wrote, the positive feedback percentage and the business name and address the seller registered with Amazon. One lookup costs €0.00015, so checking 1,000 seller IDs costs €0.15. Save a watchlist of seller IDs once, and each lookup is stored in your Scrapewise account for the table, Excel, your AI assistant or the API.

The usual trigger is an unknown seller on your listing. You see it in the offers list, you don't recognize the ID, and you need a name before you can decide what to do. Look up every new ID the day it shows up and the cost is too small to count. 300 lookups a month cost €0.045.

This page is about one storefront. It doesn't list the seller's products. To see who sells a given ASIN, use the Amazon offers API, then bring the IDs here. Every source and its price per call is listed on the page with all data APIs and prices.

Who looks up Amazon sellers

  • Brand owners

You have an approved reseller list and an unknown ID just appeared on your listing. You need the store name and business details for your records and for a complaint to Amazon.

  • Wholesale buyers and suppliers

Before you open an account with a new reseller or buy liquidation stock from one, you check the feedback score and what they say about themselves.

  • Sellers watching rivals

You keep a list of the 20 stores you meet most often on your listings and re-check them monthly. A falling feedback score can mean they're struggling.

  • Agencies doing brand protection

You file cases for several brands. A dated row per seller, with name and business address, saves you copying profile pages by hand.

How a seller lookup works

  1. Collect seller IDs

Take them from the Amazon offers API, the Sold by link or a seller page link, and paste one per line. Each seller ID is one call at €0.00015.

  2. Run once or monthly

Run a list once, or schedule a monthly re-check for a watchlist. Every lookup is saved with its UTC date in your database.

  3. Build your brand file

Download Excel for your records, pull rows by API, or ask your AI assistant: 'which sellers on my watchlist changed their rating since last month?' Rows are kept for 90 days, so export what a longer case needs.

Set it up once. The data keeps coming.

Save your search once and it runs by itself. Every run lands in your own Scrapewise database, and you pick how to read it.

  1. Set it up once

Add your ASINs, keywords, places or apps to a scraper in the web app. New accounts get 5 free requests.

  2. Runs on your schedule

Pick daily, weekly on the days you choose, every few days, or the first or last day of the month. Scheduled runs start at night, European time. Need it more often? Start runs from your own code.

  3. Saved in your database

Each run adds dated rows, so this week sits next to last week. Rows are kept for 90 days.

  4. Use it your way

Open the table in the web app and download the latest run as an Excel file. Ask your own AI assistant about it. Or pull the rows into your code with an API key.

Ask your AI assistant about your own data

Connect Claude Desktop, Claude Code or another MCP app with a read-only key. The assistant reads the rows you've already collected, at no extra cost on Scrapewise. With a full-access key it can start a run for you too.

  • Which of my ASINs lost the Buy Box this week?
  • Which competitor cut prices the most since Monday?
  • Show the keywords where I dropped out of the top 10.

Every Amazon seller column, explained

One row per seller. The sw columns match all other Scrapewise data APIs. For a seller profile, sw seller and sw title hold the store name, sw external id holds the seller ID and sw location holds the city, state and ZIP code from the business address. sw rating turns the positive feedback percentage into a 0 to 5 score, so 92% becomes 4.6.

Standard columns

The short version of the profile. Use sw rating to sort sellers next to star ratings from other sources, and sw fetched at as the date of your record.

Store profile

The seller ID, the store name buyers see, the about text the seller wrote and the positive feedback percentage. About text is often a return policy or a line about the business, such as a note that donated goods can't be exchanged.

  • about
  • rating_positive_percentage

Business name and address

The business details Amazon shows on the seller page. The address comes both as separate lines (street, city, state, ZIP code, country) and as one full string. Handle them with care when you share a report.

What sellers do with Amazon seller data

01

Identify unauthorized resellers

Run every unknown seller ID from your offers check through this lookup. Match the business name against your distributor list, then decide between a message, a test buy or a report.

02

Vet a seller before a deal

Check the positive feedback percentage before you buy from them or open a wholesale account. In our sample, scores ranged from 82% to 96%.

03

Keep a seller watchlist

Re-check your top 20 rival sellers every month and log the rating. A store that drops several points in a quarter is worth watching on your shared listings.

04

Build a brand protection case file

Save the store name, about text and business address with the date for each violation. Amazon asks for specifics, and a dated row gives you them.

05

Map stores behind several brands

Match seller IDs and business names across your category. Sometimes one company turns out to run several storefronts.

What seller lookups cost

  • New seller alerts for a brand

A cookware brand checks offers on 80 ASINs daily and looks up every new seller ID, about 10 a day. 300 lookups a month cost €0.045.

  • Monthly rival watchlist

A reseller re-checks the 150 stores that share their listings once a month and logs feedback changes. 150 calls cost €0.0225.

  • One-off category map

An agency collects 5,000 seller IDs from offers on a client's category and looks each one up once to group stores by business name. 5,000 calls cost €0.75.

Why look sellers up this way

  • A dated record, not a screenshot

Each lookup is a row with a UTC time. Keep a history of a seller's name and rating in one sheet and sort it.

  • Built to pair with offers

The seller ID in every offers row goes straight into this lookup. Two cheap calls take you from an ASIN to a named business.

  • Sensitive details stay hidden until you need them

Business name and address columns start hidden, so a shared table or screen doesn't show them by accident.

Work out your lookup cost

Multiply seller IDs by checks per month. A watchlist of 200 sellers checked weekly is about 870 calls a month, or €0.13. Compare all data APIs
