Amazon Search API

Amazon search results API: 48 products per search

Type a keyword the way a shopper would. You get the results page back as about 48 rows, each with its position, price, rating, sponsored flag and bought-last-month badge. One search costs €0.00015.

Where you rank, and who paid to sit above you

The Amazon search API runs a keyword on Amazon and returns the results page as rows. A page holds about 48 products, and each row tells you its position, whether it's a sponsored ad, the price, the price before a deal, the star rating, the review count, the badge and the bought-last-month text. One search costs €0.00015. A thousand searches cost €0.15 and give you around 48,000 product rows. Save your keywords once and the ranks for every run pile up in your Scrapewise account, where the table, Excel, your AI assistant and the API all read the same rows.

Rank tracking is the main job. Your listing can sit at position 4 on Monday and position 19 on Thursday, and Seller Central won't tell you. A daily search on your 20 main keywords is 600 calls a month, which costs €0.09. Add page 2 for each keyword and it's €0.18.

Search works from a keyword. If you want Amazon's own chart for a category with no keyword, use the Amazon Best Sellers API. Prices for every source are listed together on the page with all data APIs and prices.

Who runs Amazon searches through an API

  • Sellers tracking keyword rank

You have 10 to 50 keywords that pay the bills. You want your organic position for each one every day, in a sheet you can chart, so you notice a slide before sales drop.

  • PPC managers

You want to know which brands buy the sponsored slots on your keywords and how often. The sponsored flag on every row gives you that list without clicking through pages by hand.

  • Product researchers

Before you order stock, you look at page one for the keyword. Prices, review counts and bought-last-month badges show how crowded the niche is and what buyers pay.

  • Agencies with several clients

You report rank for many brands across hundreds of keywords. At €0.15 per 1,000 searches, the data cost doesn't change what you charge.

How an Amazon search call works

  1. Save your keywords

Add one keyword per line, exactly as a shopper types it. Pick the page from 1 to 20, and optionally a ZIP code, language and desktop or mobile. Each keyword and page is one call at €0.00015.

  2. Schedule it daily

Every run is saved with its date in your database, so your rank history builds up on its own. Rows are kept for 90 days.

  3. Check your position

Filter the table by your ASIN and download Excel, pull rows by API, or ask your AI assistant: 'where did my ASIN rank for garlic press each day this week?'

Set it up once. The data keeps coming.

Save your search once and it runs by itself. Every run lands in your own Scrapewise database, and you pick how to read it.

  1. Set it up once

Add your ASINs, keywords, places or apps to a scraper in the web app. New accounts get 5 free requests.

  2. Runs on your schedule

Pick daily, weekly on the days you choose, every few days, or the first or last day of the month. Scheduled runs start at night, European time. Need it more often? Start runs from your own code.

  3. Saved in your database

Each run adds dated rows, so this week sits next to last week. Rows are kept for 90 days.

  4. Use it your way

Open the table in the web app and download the latest run as an Excel file. Ask your own AI assistant about it. Or pull the rows into your code with an API key.

Ask your AI assistant about your own data

Connect Claude Desktop, Claude Code or another MCP app with a read-only key. The assistant reads the rows you've already collected, at no extra cost on Scrapewise. With a full-access key it can start a run for you too.

  • Which of my ASINs lost the Buy Box this week?
  • Which competitor cut prices the most since Monday?
  • Show the keywords where I dropped out of the top 10.

Every Amazon search column, explained

Each search row has three parts. The sw columns are the same across all Scrapewise data APIs, so a row from Amazon search lines up with Walmart or Google Shopping results. The native columns are what Amazon shows for that product on the results page. The ctx columns describe the search itself and repeat on every row, so each row still makes sense after you filter or export it.

Rank and ad status

sw position is the spot on the page as Amazon shows it. sw sponsored and isSponsored say whether the row is a paid ad. Keep both in view when you track rank, because an ad and an organic listing for the same ASIN can both appear.

  • sw position
  • position
  • sw sponsored

Product identity

The ASIN, title, product link and image. sw external id holds the ASIN, and sw id kind says it's an ASIN.

Price and deals

Rating and demand signals

Stars, rating count and review count, plus the two text badges buyers notice first. badge holds labels such as Overall Pick or Limited time deal. sales_volume holds Amazon's bought-last-month text, such as 8K+ bought in past month.

Search context and related searches

The keyword, the page number and Amazon's result count text, such as 1-48 of over 100,000 results. The related searches columns hold the six suggestions Amazon shows, which make a cheap keyword idea list.

  • ctx_keyword
  • ctx_page

Row status

sw status says whether the search returned results. sw source url is the Amazon search link that was read, and sw fetched at is the time in UTC.

  • sw status

What sellers do with Amazon search data

01

Track organic rank for your main keywords

Save the position of your ASIN on each keyword every day and chart it. A drop from position 3 to 11 is a reason to check your price, stock and reviews that week.

02

List the brands buying sponsored slots

Filter rows where the sponsored flag is true and count brands per keyword over a week. You learn who spends on your terms and how hard.

03

Size demand before a launch

Add up the bought-last-month badges on page one. In our coffee mug sample, one Contigo mug showed 8K+ and an Owala tumbler showed 7K+. That's a quick read on how much the keyword moves.

04

Find price gaps on page one

Sort page one by price. If most products sit between $20 and $30 and nothing well rated sits near $15, that's a gap worth testing.

05

Compare results by ZIP code

Run the same keyword for two ZIP codes and compare delivery dates and prices. Useful when you ship from one warehouse and wonder why sales lag in another region.

06

Build an ASIN list for deeper checks

Take the top 48 ASINs and feed them into the Amazon product data API for specs, Buy Box and sales rank.

What Amazon search jobs cost

  • Daily rank on 50 keywords, two pages deep

A kitchenware seller tracks 50 keywords on pages 1 and 2 every day. That's 100 calls a day, 3,000 a month, for €0.45. It returns about 144,000 product rows.

    calls per month
    3,000
    cost per month
    €0.45
  • Sponsored slot report for an agency

An agency checks 400 client keywords on page 1 twice a day, morning and evening, to catch ad schedules. 800 calls a day for 30 days is 24,000 calls, or €3.60.

    calls per month
    24,000

    €3.60
  • Niche research before a launch

A new seller runs 300 keyword ideas once, pages 1 to 3, to compare price ranges and sales badges. 900 calls, run once, cost €0.135.

    calls per month

    cost per month

Why use this for Amazon keyword tracking

  • Price per search, not per keyword slot

Rank trackers usually sell keyword bundles per month. Here a search is €0.00015, so tracking 10 keywords or 1,000 costs exactly what you run.

  • Sponsored and organic in one row set

Every row carries its position and its sponsored flag, so ad spying and rank tracking come from the same call.

  • Mobile and local results

Pick desktop or mobile and a ZIP code. Mobile shoppers see a different page one, and so do shoppers in a different state.

Work out your rank tracking cost

Multiply keywords by pages by days. 20 keywords, page 1 only, every day for 30 days is 600 calls, or €0.09. Compare all data APIs
