What shoppers in one area see when they search Walmart

The Walmart search API runs a keyword on Walmart and returns the results page as rows, about 36 products per call. Each row has the position, item ID, name, price, rating, review count, seller, stock status, fulfillment option and a sponsored flag. One search costs €0.0015, so 1,000 searches cost €1.50. That's roughly 36,000 product rows. See how that compares on our page of all data APIs and prices. Save the keywords once and each run's results are stored in your Scrapewise account, ready for the table, Excel, your AI assistant or the API.

Walmart search isn't the same everywhere. Prices and stock depend on the store Walmart picks for the shopper. You can send a US ZIP code or a store ID with the keyword, and every row records the store it came from: store ID, city, state and postal code. Run one keyword for five ZIP codes and you have a regional price map for that product type.

Each call also tells you how big the result set is. The context columns show the query, the total number of results Walmart reports and how many pages there are. If a keyword has 303 results across 16 pages, you know how crowded it is before you list a new item there.

Who uses the Walmart search API

  • Walmart Marketplace sellers

Track where your item ranks for the 10 or 20 keywords that bring you sales, and see which items sit above you.

  • Product researchers

Check a niche before you source it. Count how many page-one items Walmart sells itself, how many are sponsored and what the rating spread looks like.

  • Regional and grocery sellers

Compare the price of the same product type between cities by running one keyword with several ZIP codes.

  • Agencies running Walmart ads

Log which items take the sponsored slots on your client's keywords each day and how often your client shows up there.

How it works

  1. Save your keywords

Add keywords to a scraper, with a ZIP code or store ID for one area. Each keyword and ZIP combination is one call at €0.0015.

  2. Schedule the searches

Run daily, weekly or every few days. Each run saves about 36 dated rows per search, so you can track position over time.

  3. Read the results

Sort by position, price or seller in the table and export Excel, pull rows by API, or ask your AI assistant: 'which sellers took the top 5 spots for air fryer this week?'

Set it up once. The data keeps coming.

Save your search once and it runs by itself. Every run lands in your own Scrapewise database, and you pick how to read it.

  1. Set it up once

Add your ASINs, keywords, places or apps to a scraper in the web app. New accounts get 5 free requests.

  2. Runs on your schedule

Pick daily, weekly on the days you choose, every few days, or the first or last day of the month. Scheduled runs start at night, European time. Need it more often? Start runs from your own code.

  3. Saved in your database

Each run adds dated rows, so this week sits next to last week. Rows are kept for 90 days.

  4. Use it your way

Open the table in the web app and download the latest run as an Excel file. Ask your own AI assistant about it. Or pull the rows into your code with an API key.

Ask your AI assistant about your own data

Connect Claude Desktop, Claude Code or another MCP app with a read-only key. The assistant reads the rows you've already collected, at no extra cost on Scrapewise. With a full-access key it can start a run for you too.

  • Which of my ASINs lost the Buy Box this week?
  • Which competitor cut prices the most since Monday?
  • Show the keywords where I dropped out of the top 10.

Column guide

Rows mix three kinds of columns. The sw columns (shown as sw position, sw price and so on) use the same names on every Scrapewise data API. The plain columns are Walmart's own fields. The ctx columns describe the search itself and repeat on every row from the same call.

Standard columns shared with every API

Handy when you put Walmart, Amazon and Google Shopping results in one sheet. sw position is the rank, sw sponsored is true for paid spots and sw location shows the store area.

What sellers do with Walmart search data

01

Track your keyword rank

Save your item's position for 10 keywords every day. When it drops from 4 to 19, you know within a day, not at the end of the month.

02

Compare prices across regions

Run one keyword with 5 ZIP codes and line up the price column. Grocery and household items often show different prices from store to store.

03

See who wins page one

Count rows by seller. If Walmart.com holds 25 of 36 spots, a third-party listing will have a hard time there.

04

Measure sponsored pressure

Count how many results have the sponsored flag set. A keyword where the top 8 spots are paid is one where organic rank alone won't get you seen.

05

Collect item IDs for deeper checks

Take the top items and pass their item IDs to the Walmart product API for UPCs, specs and store stock.

06

Spot new competitors each week

Compare this week's item IDs on page one with last week's. New IDs are new competitors, and you see their price and rating straight away.

Real setups and what they cost

  • Daily rank tracking

A seller tracks 10 keywords in one ZIP code every day. That's 300 calls a month, or €0.45, for about 10,800 product rows.

  • Regional price check

A grocery brand runs 20 keywords across 5 ZIP codes once a week. About 400 calls a month for €0.60.

Why sellers pick this API

  • Results tied to a real store

Every row carries the store ID and ZIP code it was priced for, so regional comparisons are honest.

  • Sponsored spots marked

The sponsored flag lets you split paid from organic rank without eyeballing the page.

  • Cheap enough to run daily

€0.0015 per search with no plan. Tracking 10 keywords a day costs less than €0.50 a month.
